Giraffe chair

A giraffe chair inspired by my animal spirit project, made by felt and wood.

I used pieces of wood for the under frame and then I stitched felt around the wood and used the glue gun to secure it together. I then stitched all the detail bits and added a tail. It was a simple effective way to use felt, I enjoyed making it.

3D sculpture

My 3D model for my project, i'm not sure if i'm finished with her the way she is or if I should put some eyes and features on her. I just like the way she is actually like that so at the moment its still in process, but this is my 3D sculpture. I made her out of newspaper I was thinking of paper molding her after but then I had the idea of felt, they didn't have any left and I went material searching I found this velvet material that was soft and fur like so I thought this would be hard to stitch but give it ago and I like the out come.  

Inspired Tim Burton

Tim Burton was born in August 25, 1958, he is an American film director, writer, and artist. He is famous for his dark, quirky-themed movies and is one of my favourite artists. I love Tim Burtons work, he's inspired me for years after I realized my cross hatching work has a similar style to his. He has inspired me since too think more like him and just find him unique.

felt flower

With newspaper I made a ball to create the flower base, I then covered it with felt and added diamonds.

After I stitched each felt petal around the base and added the leaves. 

What i found in the post

I found this in the post, and I found it really clever how it folded it up and opened. Its a really clever way too advertise a product that matches what your saying. Love clover is basically the selling point and using hearts they have made the clover which I found really neat. 

My goofy panther

A child like panther design I created too see how small felt I could work with, too use for my animation.

I realized that working with felt would be too big and would not have enough detail to do so.

I decided to go with clay in the end but my panther makes a nice display toy.

I decided too design a cushion with my design of my animal in front, I was trying too think more product based. I found some old material i had and found the background really interesting and it would look good with my panther. I used transfer paper to transfer my images on to the material using a iron. I then stitched all the hemming around and added a ribbon above.
